A report from the Swancon committee:
In light of information from the Department of Health, the Western Australian Department of Health, and the advice of medical professionals in our community such as Dr Karen McKenna, the Convention Committee, Convention Steering Committee and WASFF Board have voted to cancel Swancon 2020.
Early projections indicate that the height of the pandemic is likely to be late April to early May, and as such we would be irresponsible to hold a large public gathering, regardless of the amount of hand sanitizer and tissues we provided.
If you have already purchased a ticket, you can transfer it to next year’s Con or request a refund by emailing email@example.com before May 1st. If you do not contact us, we will move your ticket forward to Swancon2021.
If you do elect to transfer your ticket to 2021 you’ll still be in the draw for the free overnight stay at the Duxton, to be used before the 3rd December 2020
We made this decision with very heavy hearts. We are hoping to organise some online events to still celebrate Swancon, so stay tuned for more details
